People often ask, “What are the benefits of membership?”

The answer is simple, yet profound. The greatest benefit of membership is access—access to people, wisdom, culture, and community.

Within this organization exists collective years of experience you cannot find anywhere else in the world. Our members are educators, business owners, diplomats, artists, and community leaders who have lived and led across continents. Together, they form a living network of guidance, connection, and opportunity.

This kind of strength cannot be achieved alone—not as an individual relocating to Africa, nor as a single family trying to navigate new territory. It takes community. It takes connection. It takes us—moving together as one collective through uncharted waters and shared experiences.

And like any family, we fuss, we fight, and yes, we have our issues. But through it all, we show up for one another. When someone is in the hospital, we visit. When there’s a celebration, we attend. When someone is lonely, we are there. That is what community looks like. That is what love in action feels like.

The love, history, and culture that bind us are the heartbeat of this organization. The love is real—you can see it in our laughter, our disagreements, our shared meals, and our unwavering support for one another.

The true benefit of membership isn’t measured in discounts or perks. It’s measured in belonging—in being part of something greater than yourself, something rooted in heritage, unity, and love.

That’s the benefit of membership.
Not a transaction. A family. A home away from home.
A community of people walking together—because the love is real, and in this family, you are never alone.     Shannan Nana Akosua Magee
